Limited edition silkscreen posters were printed for each of these shows at Vahalla Studioswhere Tad Carpenter was a former partner and collaborator. All posters were commissioned by either the band, venue or production company. Tad’s also illustrated a gaggle of children’s books that have become staple reading material for my kiddos each night. For over 200 shows, we have concepted and created unique poster designs for musicians and bands. for behemoths like MTV, Ray-Ban, Target, Macy’s, and more. They slay brand strategy, identities, illustrations, etc.

Tad Carpenter co-runs Carpenter Collective-a powerhouse design and branding studio-with his wickedly talented wife, Jessica. The SUNday SUNS project began in 2015 with a simple enough premise - draw a unique sun every Sunday. He feels very lucky to draw, paint, and create for a living. His first book was Sad Santa (Sterling) and he has worked with Macy's, Adobe, Target, MTV, Hallmark Cards, Nick Jr., and Publix, to name a few. Today’s guest is a great example of how curiosity, experimentation, and play are compounding catalysts for big opportunities. Tad Carpenter is an illustrator, designer, and teacher. Our latest collaboration features vibrant selections from our long-time friend and incredibly talented illustrator and designers SUNday SUNS series. Carpenter earned his undergraduate music degree and teaching credentials from California State University Northridge.

A past Vice President of the California chapter of Percussive Arts Society, Tad Carpenter has built a distinguished career in the marching band and drum & bugle corps activity. Tad is an endorsee for Yamaha Drums, Evans Drumheads, Zildjian Cymbals, and Innovative Percussion Sticks and Mallets.If your creative work isn’t fun, it just becomes another mundane, soul-sucking day job. Tad has composed music for The Guitar Center Drum Off, The GRAMMYs, The Academy Awards, Coachella Music Festival, and openings for The Hollywood Bowl and Old Navy Stores in China. Tad received his Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Credential at California State University, Northridge and his Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance at University of Southern California. He is also a clinician for Yamaha Sounds of Summer, and instructs Disneyland’s All American College Band. Tad currently instructs drum lines for the University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band, Tournament of Roses Honor Band, and he is Director of Percussion at Pasadena City College. Illustrator and graphic designer who is known for being a founding member and partner of Carpenter Collective which works as a design and branding studio. At age 11, he was playing with Santa Clara Vanguard "B" Corps. Tad Carpenter has built a distinguished career in the Marching Band and Drum & Bugle Corps activity.
